Tackling Indigenous Smoking Action Worker

Overview: 

Implement local health promotion activities e.g. community forums, supporting creation of smoke-free homes and workplace sharing information about smoking cessation, to increase community understanding of the dangers of smoking, benefits of cessation and benefits of smoke-free environments.

This is a 3-month contract with the potential to extend based on funding and the successful candidates performance.

Location: Based on the Ngaanyatjarra Lands WAType: Full Time 3 month contractSalary Package: 

  • Attractive gross remuneration $67,000 - $73,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

The Role: 

Duties Include:

  • Assisting the Regional TIS Coordinator in the delivery of regional smoking prevention and cessation social marketing campaigns and events. 
  • Deliver smoking cessation and support programs appropriate to the worker’s qualification level to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

The Successful Applicant Will Possess: 

  • Demonstrate an awareness of issues affecting Indigenous Australian people’s well-being
  • Exemplify non-smoking and quit smoking behaviours. 
  • Perform other duties as agreed between the host organisation and the funding body.
