Administration Officer

An opportunity exists within the Ngaanyatjarra Council for an Administration Officer to join
our Tenancy team based in the Perth CBD. This is an exciting role for an enthusiastic and
motivated person to make a real difference to the lives of Aboriginal people.

Ngaanyatjarra Council (Aboriginal Corporation) represents the interests of approximately
2000 members who live in 11 remote Indigenous Communities in the Ngaanyatjarra Lands
of Western Australia.

 About the role
 Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of up to 100 properties.
  • Organising tasks and rosters of remote based staff.
  • Processing tenancy applications and accurately documenting new tenancies and
  • tenancy changes in Department of Communities Habitat software.
  • Scanning and filing of all tenancy paperwork into both internal and external digital record management systems.
  • Confirm income using appropriate Centrelink protocols.
  • Analysing debt reports and following debt collection processes including issuing of legal notices.
  • Scheduling property inspection details in Habitat software and sending notices to community offices.
  • Participate and prepare for relevant internal meetings raising issues.
  • Identify opportunities for service improvement.
  • Liaison with Community Service Managers and other team members in relation to community and tenancy matters.

The skills required to be considered for this role:

  • High attention to detail with a high standard of administration and organisational skills.
  • Capacity to organise the workload and rosters of other staff.
  • Capability to plan and organise tasks several weeks in advance.
  • Experience in multitasking.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking ability.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, MSWord), and CRM software preferred.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team with a ‘can do’ approach.

This full-time position comes with a remuneration package that includes a base salary of $60,000 - $65,000 (based on experience) per annum, plus superannuation, four weeks annual leave, one week remote leave, leave loading, plus salary sacrifice up to $15,900 per FBT year for rent, mortgage or living expenses to provide more net pay.
